Our Lamma “excursion” started at 10am. We, (Rick and myself) left the house at 10am to catch a bus to get to Shatin then take the KCR to Kowloon Tong to get to Central…after many changes of transportation, we finally legged it to the pier. We had 20 seconds before the ferry left from pier 4 but we were still at pier 6. Out of breath with a stitch, I thought we had probably missed the ferry however when we got there the women waved us in to hurry up and we got on nicely! The ferry to Lamma was enjoyable for some but was very bad for me.
When I sat down after doing the exercise of my life I went to open my bottle of Sprite Ice…SHPLLAAAA…the bottle went; all the fizz went everywhere on me. What a great way to start the day hey?! After trying to “wash” myself with the warm water that splashed out of the tap from the tiny “restroom” I sat down next to Rick who by this time was enjoying much of the view…I, however was sea sick. Great hey?! Read the rest of this entry »

Going camping was a very different thing for me, I had never done such a thing and walking down to Sai Keng (the village I live) seemed very tiring for me let alone walk 8 hours a day with tiny breaks in between. Something which really annoyed me [I think Rick will agree with btw, Rick is my boyfriend.] is that we woke up at 5:45 to leave at 6:20 for a bus to Sai Kung and to find out that no one showed up at 7 [The set time to meet up!] until a few minutes later Dan showed up…then at 7:30 Phil and Lillian and then MoMo [nick name, his real name is Athens[ at 8:30. I was not impressed.
The trip was surprisingly very exhausting as MoMo probably chose the hardest trail he could find and which of course is one of the HKAYP (HKAYP is like…Duke of Edinburgh in the UK) silver trails. Parts of the walk were simple and gentle however, the other parts were like walking to hell…up, down and around random mountains…some of the mountains were very, very difficult to climb especially when it was uphill…we had to take frequent breaks until we stopped panting, drink lots of water and then continue whilst MoMo raced off by himself!
